NAIDOC Week

This week at school we celebrated        NAIDOC week, which is celebrating the achievements of  aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People.

 Tuesday 15th July – There was a morning tea held in the Hall with the Indigenous Playgroup. This group meets  every Tuesday, held by Diana Fatiaki.

 Wednesday 156h July – The students participated in the painting of the banner for the National NAIDOC March which was held today. (Friday)

Natasha Nagas from the PACE program was also  helping out with the painting of the banner.

 Friday 18th July – The students will be     participating in the march which starts at the Club Hotel and finishes at Alexandra park. If any families are interested in being part in any of these events I encourage you to come along and join in with your children.

Mrs Diana Fatiaki below received  an award  “ELDER OF THE YEAR”  for NADIOC week. Congratulations. It is well deserved. Mrs Fatiaki is the Indigenous Playgroup   Co-ordinator which is held at Central School every Tuesday morning in the hall.
