Bunnings Visit

Planting seeds and learning about sustainability. Learning in the classroom about our earth’s natural  resources is one thing but actually contributing to conserve these precious resources and getting our hands dirty in another.

Last Wednesday Year 2/3 and some students from Mrs Cella’s group were invited to go to Bunnings and learn about sustainability with a hands-on experience provided by Bunnings Warehouse.

After a short bus ride we were warmly welcomed by Bunnings Team Member Samantha who guided the kids step by step through the importance of our natural resources and what they can do in their community to conserve them. They provided us with punnets, soil and seeds so the children were able to have their own part in preparing the soil and plant a variety of vegetables. These are being cared for in the school and will soon be planted in our garden in front of the Year 2/3 classroom.
